I got an email with a special offer from Cafe Imports where they were selling a special offer Colombia; a pink bourbon coffee under their Aces Program. I called my coffee expert at Cafe Imports, but I was too late and the entire lot was sold out. As an alternative, she suggested that I try this Colombian; a variety select, pink bourbon coffee that is from Juan Bautista Lara’s Finca El Limon, located in St. Agustin, Huila, Colombia. This coffee has a distinctive Colombian profile. It has a delicate mouthfeel with notes of caramelized sugar, cocoa, and a tart fruit acidity. This coffee is juicy and very complex.
This Colombian, variety select, pink bourbon coffee is produced in small roast batches and hand packaged by Ox and Crow Coffee Roasters, a woman owned coffee roaster in Lake Elmo, MN. This coffee is meant to be savored all on its own. We recommend brewing this coffee with a Hario V60 pour over system using 198 degree Fahrenheit water at a brew ratio of 16 parts water to one part coffee. We selected a finer than drip coffee grind to time our brew process to 3 minutes after a 30 second wait period for coffee blooming.
